Kileleshwa is an Up-town market estate that is located about 6 Kilometers from Nairobi CBD that majorly houses the Upper-Middle Class. This is about a 22-minute drive depending on the road conditions. The suburb covers an area of about 9 square kilometers and is home to over 27,000 residents.

History of Kileleshwa

Kileleshwa began as a Whites only neighborhood back in the 1900’s before it became racially integrated. After independence most civil servant homes were located in this area owing to its proximity to Nairobi town.

However, unknown to many is that the name ‘Kileleshwa’ is from the Masaai word ‘Leleshwa’ which translates to a place of God, owing to the splendid views and natural scenery in the place.
